A live conversation or a recorded file?
Choose a live interpretation app for a conversation happening now. For a saved German voice message, interview or lesson, upload the recording here to create an English voice track. You can listen to a free preview of up to 30 seconds before generating the full file. This page covers the recorded-file workflow.
Complete clauses before short English lines
German uses constructions in which part of the verb appears at the end of the clause, including separable verbs. Review the complete clause before deciding that an early subtitle fragment is a complete instruction. A partial phrase can leave out the action that an English listener needs to understand.
In a technical demonstration or training recording, check specialist terms and product names against the source. Choose a consistent English term for the same object throughout the script. If a long explanation is translated into a crowded time slot, preserve the meaning when revising it; do not remove a negation, condition or safety instruction just to make it shorter.
For a recorded interview, check where a speaker finishes a thought and where another person interrupts. Read the surrounding German and English sentences together before making a local edit. The timing process attempts to fit translated speech into the recording, but it does not guarantee an ideal speaking pace for every clause. Listen again after regenerating an edited English sentence, especially around short pauses. A reviewer who understands the source should approve factual and technical material before the English audio is published.

How to translate the recording
- Upload a file you have permission to use. MP3, WAV and M4A audio or MP4, MOV and WebM video, up to 200 MiB and 10 minutes.
- Try the English preview. English is preselected. The source language is detected automatically; the preview covers up to 30 seconds and uses no credits.
- Generate and review the full dub. Compare the source and English sentences, then edit translated names, terms or phrasing where needed. Only edited sentences are regenerated.
- Download the result. Get English audio mixed with the background, voice-only audio and separate source/English SRT and VTT files. Video uploads can also produce dubbed video; audio uploads do not create video.
Voices, background and timing
Stock voices are assigned by detected speaker, with reuse if the voice catalogue is exhausted. Optional cloning requires your consent and a single identified speaker with at least 10 seconds of usable sample speech. Multiple speakers or insufficient sample speech fall back to stock voices. Review the preview and the full recording before sharing.
The translated speech is mixed with the separated background. Separation can leave artifacts, and timing adaptation cannot guarantee exact alignment for short or overlapping lines. Listen to sentence transitions and check that the English remains understandable at the resulting pace.
